Meet the Team

Rob Mason - General Manager

Originally from London Ontario, Rob joined the Canadian P.G.A. in 1979 and earned his designation of Class A Professional in 1984. Rob is also a long time member of the Canadian Society of Club Managers and the National Golf Course Owners Association. Rob is a Taylor Made Staff player.

Rob's golf career began at the Highland Country Club in London Ontario where he served as both assistant and associate professional for C.P.G.A. Master Professional Mike Silver. After leaving Highland Country Club, Rob went on to become Head Professional and General Manager at Ridgetown Golf and Country Club and then C.P.G.A. Director of Golf at Pine Knot Golf and Country Club. Both clubs flourished under his direction.
Rob became the General Manager and Head Professional at Craigowan Golf and Country Club in 1998 and guided the Club through a long range planning process that included course improvements, the planning and construction of a new clubhouse, and the implementation of a new practice facility.

St.Thomas Golf and Country Club is ranked the 46th best golf course in the country. The Club is home to the best golf academy and learning center in the area and annually hosts the Early Bird Men's Golf Tournament which has taken place since 1949. Rob has actively served on committees for the 2003 RCGA Future Links Championship, the 2005 RCGA Canadian Junior Championship and the 2009 Men's Ontario Amateur Championship.

Wade Beaudoin - Golf Course Superintendent

Wade joined the St. Thomas Golf and Country Club course maintenance team in 1997. Starting out as a labourer he worked through the ranks serving as the 2nd Assistant, Assistant Superintendent and finally as Golf Course Superintendent. He has held this position since 2006.
A Graduate of the Golf Course Technician Program at Lambton College and The University of Guelph's Turf Managers Short Course, Wade continues to further his education through seminars and Association events. In 2010 Wade completed the Business Foundations program at the prestigious Richard Ivey School of Business in London. Wade is an active member of the GCSAA, OGSA and GLAGS associations. He holds licenses as a Certified Landscape Exterminator, Certified IPM Agent, Chainsaw Certification and First Aid and CPR.

Andrew Pearson - Golf Professional

Now in his 10th season as a member of the PGA of Canada, all of which have been spent at St. Thomas. Andrew has a strong background in teaching, merchandising and most notably tournament operations, from his time spent with the Canadian Junior Golf Association. This experience serves him well as he puts on first class events for our members and guests.

Andrew attended Graceland University in Iowa on a golf scholarship before completing his degree at Brock University. Andrew is a certified PGA of Canada club fitter, a certified PING club fitter and PING staff player. Off the golf course, Andrew enjoys spending time with his wife Kelsey and thier two golden retrievers.

His favourite hole at Union? Number 15, a beautiful par 5, nestled in the valley. This hole challenges you off the tee and a good drive presents you with a risk/reward decision on your second shot where a deep narrow green awaits your approach. Blaine Tye - Executive Chef

This season, Chef Blaine Tye will be joining our team at St. Thomas Golf and Country.  He is excited to start instituting new menu ideas and creating new club house favourites.

After spending several years honing his craft in London's busy downtown core, Blaine made the move to the golf course culture in 2012 where he has spent the last 5 years as the Sous Chef at Komoka's Fire Rock Golf Club. In addition to his 10 years of restaurant and hospitality experience, he also holds diplomas in Business and Nutrition Management from Fanshawe College.

Blaine's number one priority will be ensuring the satisfaction of our members and providing a top quality dining experience.

Michelle Durbridge- Food & Beverage Supervisor

Michelle was born and raised in St Thomas and has been with the club for 10 seasons.  Michelle has been in the Food and Beverage Industry for over 24 years.  Everyone at the Club knows Michelle and her dedication to the membership and knowledge of member needs. Laura Ferris - Membership Services Coordinator

Laura is a long time St. Thomas resident who is in her first year with us at the Club. Laura was with TST Overland Express as a payroll clerk for eight years and will be at the front desk to help members with any questions with their accounts.
